Kindred Group Aims to Close Gambling Addicts' Accounts by 2023

Kindred Group, the company behind Unibet and other gambling brands, has set an ambitious goal: to close the accounts of all clients suffering from gambling addiction by 2023. This initiative is part of their broader effort to promote responsible gaming and support those affected by gambling addiction.

To achieve this, Kindred Group has developed a sophisticated system called PS-EDS (Player Safety-Early Detection System). This algorithm analyzes various factors to detect problem gamblers early. The system considers dozens of indicators, identifies correlations between them, and determines the potential risk level for each user—high, medium, low, or no issues with gambling addiction.

Some of the factors evaluated by PS-EDS include excessive enthusiasm for gambling, the need to increase bets to achieve the same emotions, withdrawal symptoms when trying to stop or limit gambling, loss of control, escapism, the constant desire to win back losses, significant financial losses, lying about gambling losses, and more. The system also tracks quantitative data such as deposit history, balance, total playtime, and behavior on the site, comparing these with average values to categorize users into four risk groups.
