Kayhan Mokri: The Poker Pro Who Plays Like an Amateur

Kayhan Mokri is a 31-year-old poker player who competes in high-stakes tournaments and cash games, including heads-up matches against top players. Mokri's bankroll significantly increased after reaching the final table in tournaments, allowing him to play at higher stakes. He transitioned from 6-max games to heads-up matches in late 2022, finding the latter more dynamic and exciting.

Mokri mentioned a memorable online trash-talking episode with Stefan Burakov, who he described as having a unique and aggressive playing style. He avoids playing poker before bedtime to maintain mental clarity and performance. Mokri has played heads-up matches with notable players such as Linus, AsianFlushie, Buttonclickr, and Trueteller, but avoids playing against Berri Sweet.

Mokri advises adapting to opponents' strategies and using their perceptions to gain an advantage in matches. He started using solvers during his Zoom500 grinding days but initially copied solutions blindly, which negatively affected his win rate. Mokri considers Baraq Wisbrod a highly experienced and disciplined player who loves poker.
