Justin Saliba Wins $195,000 at PokerGO Cup Event 4 in Las Vegas

Justin Saliba made history at the 2023 PokerGO Cup in Las Vegas by winning Event 4, securing his first-ever live tournament win. Saliba took home a massive $195,000 prize, fending off Anthony Hu in a thrilling heads-up battle. The event, which was the last of the ‘preliminary’ $10k events at the highroller series, saw 78 entries and a total prize pool of $780,000.

Saliba’s victory was particularly notable as he was in fifth place with less than 20 big blinds when the final table of 6 was set. Anthony Hu, who was in the chip lead at the time, sent Kristen Foxen out on the bubble and chipped up from there. Erik Seidel was the first to bust in brutal runner, runner fashion, followed by Andrew Moreno, who finished fifth for the second time in the series. Calvin Lee was eliminated by Anthony Hu, and Adrian Mateos was disposed of by Saliba in third place.

In the heads-up round, Hu had a 2-1 chip lead, but Saliba consistently chipped away until the roles were reversed. Hu looked like he might square things up again, but the river had other ideas, securing Saliba’s victory. The final results saw Saliba at the top, followed by Hu in second place with $140,400, Mateos in third with $93,600, Lee in fourth with $78,000, Moreno in fifth with $62,400, and Seidel in sixth with $46,800.
