Jason Koon Wins $500,000 at PGT Championship in Las Vegas
Jason Koon won the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Championship in Las Vegas, defeating Sean Winter heads-up to lift the trophy and bag the winner-takes-all $500,000 prize.
The season-ending PGT Championship was open to the top 21 players on the PGT leaderboard, with starting stacks based on the number of points accumulated throughout the year. The six who made it through day 1 included English duo Stephen Chidwick and Benny Glaser, the latter fresh off a $2,830,000 runner-up spot at the WPT World Championship behind Eliot Hudon.
Chad Eveslage bowed out first, flopping a flush at the worst possible moment. Nick Petrangelo’s run ended in 3rd place, Winter’s pocket 6s again holding up, and that meant he and Koon were heads-up for the trophy and the money. With Winter on a short stack, he had hopes of doubling up when he was all-in and dominating Koon... Winter: J♥ 8♣ Koon: 10♦ 8♠ Flop: 5♠ 10♣ 6♣ Turn: 3♦ River: 3♣ That was all Koon needed to bag the $500k and the 2022 PGT Championship title.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
