Jason Koon Joins Spin & Go Championship at EPT Barcelona 2025

PokerStars is hosting a live Spin & Go Championship at EPT Barcelona 2025. This event marks a significant step in bringing the popular online format to the live stage, following successful trials in Barcelona and Prague. Jason Koon, a high-stakes poker star, will participate in the championship, expressing excitement about the new format. Koon stated it will be fun and different from his usual high roller games.

Spin & Gos are three-handed, fast-paced Sit & Gos with randomized prize pools. The format was first introduced live in Barcelona in 2024, followed by a championship in Prague. Koon sees Spin & Gos as a bridge between online and live poker, making it accessible for new players. He noted, “There are a lot of people who may not feel comfortable jumping straight into a full live tournament. But they’ve played tens of thousands of Spins online. Bringing that same game live could get them to show up.”

The live production of the Spin & Go Championship features a colorful and impressive set, described by Koon as feeling like being in the movie Tron. The Spin & Go format is a strategic move for PokerStars to connect its online and live audiences, offering something familiar to online regulars while providing a fresh draw for live audiences.
