Igor Kurganov, a former poker player-turned effective altruist, is running things at Elon Musk’s foundation.
Elon Musk donated $5.7 billion of his Tesla stake to charity in November.
Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree founded the REG project, which focuses on effective altruism. The REG approach is to target the most cost-effective charitable options and generally fund those that save most lives. Elon Musk’s foundation funded local school projects, carbon removal schemes, and COVID-19 research.
