Harland Ostis: How I Lost a Million Dollars to Rick Salomon

Harland Ostis lost a million dollars to Rick Salomon in a high-stakes poker game. The night was filled with tension and high stakes, as Ostis recounts the events leading up to his significant loss. Rick Salomon was known for his dangerous playing style and his use of drugs during games, which added to the intensity of the situation.

Molly Bloom provided the venue and facilitated the game but did not participate in the betting. She ensured that the game ran smoothly, but the risk was entirely on the players. Ostis recalls that Molly's role was to provide the space and manage the participants, but she did not have the authority to close credit for any player.

Despite the high stakes and the dangerous playing style of Rick Salomon, Ostis had previously collaborated with Salomon on a project involving extreme fights in Thai prisons. This collaboration added a layer of complexity to their poker game, as they had a history of working together. However, in the end, Ostis lost the final hand of the poker game despite having a strong starting hand, highlighting the unpredictable nature of high-stakes gambling.
