Flutter Entertainment's Q1 Earnings: US Success, UK Challenges

Flutter Entertainment's Q1 earnings report highlights a mixed performance across its global operations. The gaming firm's US operations enjoyed another fantastic run, but its endeavors in the UK and Ireland didn't perform well. Online revenues in the UK and Ireland fell by 20% year on year. Flutter Entertainment's income grew by 6% in the first quarter of 2022, thanks to a 45 percent increase in sales in the United States. Flutter's US sales increased to $574 million in Q1, driven by FanDuel's remarkable success. FanDuel currently has a 37 percent share of the US online gambling sector, making it the country's top sportsbook. FanDuel generated 19 million bets between March Madness and the Super Bowl. Despite the success, Flutter Entertainment chief executive Peter Jackson stated that the company would continue to 'push incredibly hard' to attract new clients. However, Flutter's digital segment suffered a $576 million loss, with a considerable portion of the net loss attributable to high marketing expenditure.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
