Epic Poker League Day 2: Chino Rim Dominates, Key Players Fall

The second day of the Epic Poker League tournament was marked by intense action and significant shifts in the leaderboard. Vitaly Lunkin, Russia's sole hope, failed to make it into the money. His early exits included notable players like Alex Torelli and Gavin Griffin, but his luck ran out against Hasan Habib with Qc Td against Ts 8h.

Ben Lamb and Brian Rast, both prominent figures in the poker world, also faced tough times. Ben Lamb lost a coin flip with Ax Kx against Jx Jx to Kachalov. Brian Rast, on the other hand, lost a significant pot to Jason Merseie with Kd 9d against 4h 4s, leaving him with fewer chips.

Chino Rim, a fan favorite, continued his dominant performance. He eliminated Antonio Esfandiari with Kd Js against Qh Jd and secured a large pot against Matt Graham with Kc Jc against Jx Jx. Sam Trickett became the chip leader after a confrontation with Frank Cassella, setting the stage for an exciting final day.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
