Dutch Gaming Authority Warns Operators Ahead of 2026 World Cup
The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has issued a reminder to licensed operators to comply with applicable rules regarding promotional materials and available wager types. The regulator has vowed to monitor and act against the illegal gambling market as well, although it has limited recourse there.
The KSA issued a reminder that specific proposition bets are prohibited, including 'first corner kick' and 'yellow cards.' The KSA recently handed down a €24,846,000 penalty to Novatech, the company behind Qbet.com and 55bet.com, for targeting the country without a proper license.
Mike de Graaff, chief compliance officer at BetComply, commented on the difficulty of enforcing penalties against offshore operators, noting that collecting administrative fines from offshore operators remains extremely challenging.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
