Doyle Brunson Joins WPT as Brand Ambassador, Eyes WSOP Main Event
Poker legend Doyle Brunson has signed a deal to become the latest World Poker Tour (WPT) brand ambassador. The 10-time WSOP bracelet winner follows superstar DJ Steve Aoki in joining the long list of big names representing the prestigious live poker series.
Doyle Brunson has been around poker long enough to have seen the start of all major live poker series, including the World Series of Poker and WPT. In fact, the Poker Hall of Famer racked up the biggest score on his record back in 2004 in the WPT Legends of Poker tournament for $1,198,290. Adam Pliska, World Poker Tour CEO, said: 'Doyle has been a part of the World Poker Tour from the very beginning. I was there for his WPT Legends of Poker victory in 2004 when he joined the WPT Champions Club, and to also be here to welcome him to the WPT family after all this time feels surreal.'
Doyle Brunson elected to announce he would not be playing in the 2022 WSOP, citing two unvaccinated family members at home as the reason. Now, it seems, 'Texas Dolly' has had a change of heart and is chomping at the bit to at least play in the Main Event, providing that the COVID situation remains under control.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
