Poker Legend Doyle Brunson Defeats Cancer for the Fourth Time
Doyle Brunson, known as "Texas Dolly", is a legendary poker player with numerous prestigious titles and the influence of the most influential person in the history of poker. He has won 10 bracelets at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and is one of the few players to have won more than one Main Event title in 1976 and 1977.
Doyle Brunson has been fighting cancer for many years, with his first surgery occurring 60 years ago when he and his wife Louise were expecting their first child. Despite the challenges, Brunson has continued to pursue his poker career and has become one of the best players in the world.
Doyle Brunson underwent his fourth cancer surgery recently and emerged victorious. He announced the news on Twitter, expressing gratitude for the support and prayers he received. "I want to thank everyone who supported me and prayed for my health before the surgery to remove the melanoma," Brunson wrote. "Today the doctor told me that this is my fourth victory over cancer. I drew faith and strength for the battle from my favorite 91st Psalm." Fans and fellow poker players alike are hoping to see Brunson back in action soon, possibly in the "Legends Room" at Bellagio.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
