Donald Trump Pardons Las Vegas Gambling Legend Billy Walters
Donald Trump has pardoned Billy Walters, a legendary gambler from Las Vegas. Walters made tens of millions of dollars from betting and was convicted in 2017 for insider trading. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined $10 million for insider trading with former Dean Foods Co. chairman Tom Davis.
Walters was released from federal prison in Florida in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was initially supposed to be released in February 2022, but Trump pardoned him before leaving office.
Doyle Brunson, another legendary gambler, expressed his joy over Walters' pardon. "I see, Trump pardoned our old friend Billy Walters. I think that this was a justified pardon because Billy was unjustly convicted," Brunson said.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
