David Peters Wins Second USPO Title with $10k Short Deck Victory
David Peters has made a significant mark at the US Poker Open, winning his second title of the week by taking down the $10k Short Deck event. Peters earned $124,200 for his victory, defeating Ali Imsirovic in a heads-up battle.
The $10k Short Deck event had the smallest field of the 12-event series, with only 27 entries. Despite the smaller field, the action was intense, particularly in the 36-card variant. One notable moment occurred when Daniel Negreanu was eliminated from the event. Negreanu's pocket kings were rivered by Peters, and the GGPoker ambassador shared his frustration on Twitter.
Peters and Imsirovic are currently competing for the overall supremacy and the Golden Eagle trophy, which comes with an extra $50,000. Peters has made the final table of the $25k NLHE event 11, while Imsirovic has not. The final six includes notable players such as Dan Shak and Vanessa Kade, who is already bagging her second payday of the series in only her 2nd-ever $25k buy-in event.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
