Daniel Negreanu's Early Exit from Super High Roller Bowl Tournament
Daniel Negreanu, a legendary poker player, faced an early exit from the Super High Roller Bowl tournament. The tournament, with a substantial buy-in of $300,000, saw Negreanu lose a critical hand against Michael Addamo on the first level.
The hand in question saw Negreanu raise with A♥-K♦ from the button, while Addamo called with 8♠-6♣. The flop was 5♣-7♥-9♦, and both players checked. On the turn, an A♠ came out, and Negreanu raised while Addamo made a large re-raise. Negreanu called, and on the river, a 5♥ came out. Addamo went all-in, and after using all his additional time, Negreanu called and lost the hand.
The tournament had 19 entries and a prize pool of $5,700,000. With only 10 players remaining, the final table is set to form soon. Michael Addamo, an Australian high roller and the winner of the 2021 Poker Masters, was the opponent in this crucial hand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
