Dan 'Jungleman' Cates on Pandemic Poker, Blogging, and Rivalry with Phil Galfond

Dan 'Jungleman' Cates has been spending more time playing online poker due to the pandemic. He mentioned that the pandemic has forced him to change his plans, including his return to the USA for various meetings.

Cates started a blog to improve his interaction with people and become more versatile. He hopes that blogging will help him structure his thoughts better and engage more effectively with his audience. He also mentioned that he has been meditating, practicing yoga, and taking practical philosophy lessons to enhance his writing skills.

Cates calls Phil Galfond 'Mr. Falcons' due to a typo in a high-stakes chat. The nickname has stuck, and Cates believes it fits Galfond's persona, who is seen as a good person doing good deeds but also has a darker side. Cates sees himself as the owl that can hunt the falcon, symbolizing his competitive spirit and desire for victory.
