Bill Perkins Wins $80k in High-Stakes Poker Battle Against Landon Tice
Bill Perkins, a multi-millionaire amateur poker enthusiast, has made a significant impact in the high-stakes poker world with his recent victory against professional poker player Landon Tice. In a high-stakes heads-up battle on Americas CardRoom, Perkins won $79,791 in the second session of their match.
The match, which kicked off on Wednesday, consists of 20,000 hands of $200/$400 No-Limit Hold'em (NLHE). The unique aspect of this battle is the 9bb/100 handicap given to Perkins, equivalent to a $720,000 head start. This handicap, effectively an 18-stack lead, gives Perkins a substantial advantage.
Landon Tice, playing under his Americas CardRoom (ACR) nickname AbsoluteGO, started the session with an early lead. However, Perkins fought back well, and by the end of the session, which lasted almost 300 hands, Perkins had taken $79,791 from his young opponent. This victory highlights Perkins' strategic prowess and ability to maintain a lead in high-stakes games.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
