Artie Lange Reveals $3.2 Million Gambling Losses
Comedian Artie Lange, known for his appearances on Mad TV and films like Dirty Work and Elf, has opened up about his struggles with gambling addiction. In a podcast episode with Joe Rogan, Lange revealed that he lost a staggering $3.2 million gambling.
Lange's gambling addiction has led him to bet on various sports, including those he knew nothing about, such as lacrosse. He even bet $10,000 on the coin flip of the Super Bowl from 2004 to 2011. His erratic betting habits resulted in significant losses, with Lange admitting that he updates his losses in his head because he is obsessed with it.
Lange's struggles with addiction are not limited to gambling. He has also battled with cocaine addiction, first arrested for possession in 1995. His gambling debts once led to a $62,000 debt to a bookie, which resulted in him being jumped and kidnapped. Despite these challenges, Lange has since become sober and has made numerous podcast appearances as well as going on comedy tours.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
