Artem Sugak on WSOP 2022: A Rollercoaster of Emotions and Unexpected Twists

Poker player Artem Sugak recently shared his experiences at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022, revealing a mix of emotions and unexpected twists. Sugak played his first WSOP Main Event of the year, considering retiring from poker before the event but ultimately falling back in love with the game.

Sugak's journey at the WSOP was not without challenges. He mentioned experiencing jet lag for five to seven days after his arrival in Las Vegas, which significantly impacted his performance. Additionally, he described a confusing hand during the WSOP Main Event where he called with AK against a player who showed AJ, leaving him questioning his decisions.

Throughout the event, Sugak felt burnt out and emotionally exhausted. He even took to drinking calming teas and listening to soothing music to cope with the pressure. Despite these challenges, Sugak remained optimistic about his future in poker, stating that a big win at WSOP would not change his life significantly. He believes that his lifestyle and priorities would remain largely the same, regardless of a substantial win.
