Poker Pro Antonio Esfandiari Defeats Kevin Hart in Boxing Match
Poker player Antonio Esfandiari won a boxing match against comedian Kevin Hart. The match was announced a year ago, with Hart proposing odds of 35:1. Esfandiari trained with former British boxer and Olympic champion Audley Harrison. Esfandiari's sparring partner was four-time world champion Brian Viloria, who is the same height as Hart.
Hart congratulated Esfandiari on his win and expressed interest in a rematch in 2022. Esfandiari's friends Phil Laak and Jennifer Tilly were present at the match to support him.
This is not the first time a poker player has engaged in a boxing match. In 2016, Olivier Busquet and JC Alvarado had an MMA fight. In 2011, Lex Veldhuis fought Bertrand Grospellier. In 2009, Gus Hansen and Theo Jorgensen had a boxing match. All participants considered these matches to be the highlight of their high-stakes lives.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
