Andrew Robl's Epic Fold in High Stakes Poker Leaves Viewers Astonished

Andrew Robl, known for his impressive track record in televised and livestreamed cash games, made a laydown that had Poker Hall of Famer and commentator Nick Schulman claiming was “the best fold of all time.” The game, which also featured comedian Kevin Hart, was playing even bigger than usual with blinds of $500-$1,000 with a $2,000 straddle.

The action began with Justin Gavri raising to $5,000 with K♥9♥. Sam ‘Senor Tilt’ Kiki called from the small blind with Q♣J♠, and Robl defended his big blind with Q♥7♥. The flop fell A♥10♣2♥, and Kiki checked his gutshot. Robl also checked, and Gavri bet $8,000. Kiki called, and Robl opted to check-raise to $35,000 with his flush draw. Gavri called with the better flush draw, and Kiki got out of the way.

The turn was the 9♠, and Robl decided to slow down. Gavri checked behind, and the 6♥ hit the river. Robl overbet the pot for $125,000 with his flush, and Gavri didn’t wait too long before moving all in for $290,000. Robl went into the tank for more than three minutes before tossing the cards into the muck, stunning Hanks, Schulman, and the more than 90,000 viewers at home. Schulman took to social media the next day to criticize “civilian” keyboard warriors. The decision was perhaps even more impressive given the grief that high-stakes tournament pro Kristen Foxen faced last week for incorrectly folding pocket kings preflop at the Triton Poker main event in Jeju. Robl would finish the livestream with more than $900,000 in his stack, but he wasn’t able to salvage his rough sessions for the week. The big winner was bracelet winner Eric Wasserson, who profited more than $1.5 million in the game.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
