WSOP Europe Main Event: €1.5M Prize and Record-Breaking Turnout
The World Series of Poker Europe Main Event has begun with a €1,500,000 prize for the winner. The Main Event promised a pot of at least €5,000,000 but even this was smashed on the very first Day 1 starting flight. By the time that late registration ended on Day 2, there were 817 buy-ins in the prizepool that now stood at an impressive €7,761,500.
This breaks the previous record set in 2022 when Omar Eljach topped a field of 763 to scoop the first-place prize of €1,380,128. Federico Brunato, Director of Poker at King's Resort, thanked each and every one of you for choosing to be a part of WSOP Europe at King's Resort.
As Day 3 ended, there were only 35 players remaining. Defending champ Omar Eljach scored an 89th place finish for €18,000. At the time of writing, Day 4 is underway with 16 runners left. Dario Sammartino with $16 million in live tournament winnings sits in ninth place.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
