WSOP Clarifies: Vaccinated Players Won't Be Disqualified If Exposed to COVID-19
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has clarified its stance on COVID-19 rules, ensuring that fully vaccinated players will not be disqualified if exposed to the virus. This clarification comes after initial concerns about Rule 115, which allowed the Rio to remove players deemed health hazards without compensation.
According to the updated guidelines, "Consistent with current CDC guidelines, WSOP participants who are known to have been exposed to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not be required to leave the tournament and quarantine if they are fully vaccinated within the appropriate timing parameters and remain asymptomatic since the time of exposure."
Daniel Negreanu, a six-time WSOP bracelet winner, discussed the WSOP's revised stance on Twitter, noting the lack of requirements for proof of vaccination and on-site testing. Some fans have expressed concerns about the potential for an outbreak, while others view the relaxed approach as a reduction of civil liberties infringements.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
