WSOP 2021 Main Event Schedule Altered to Accommodate International Players

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2021 Main Event schedule has been altered to accommodate international players following the lifting of travel restrictions. The United States government announced that international travelers can visit the country with proof of full vaccination.

WSOP officials have adjusted the Main Event schedule to include two additional Day 1s. Day 1E will take place on November 8 with an 11 a.m. start, pushing back the originally scheduled Day 2A and 2B. Day 1F will take place the following day at noon, replacing the original Day 2C and 2D. This results in Day 1F and Day 2A, 2B & 2D taking place at the same time.

Reactions to the schedule change have been mixed. David Gralnick criticized the move, calling it a “disgrace” and a “WSOP money grab.” Conversely, Louis Do Vegas supported the change, hoping it would help European players who were previously restricted from attending.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
