WSOP 2020 Online: Gold Prizes Await Leaderboard Winners

The WSOP 2020 series will be held online due to the pandemic. This year, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will take place entirely online, but it will still feature the same high-stakes tournaments and prizes that poker enthusiasts have come to expect. With a record-breaking prize pool of $100,000,000, the WSOP 2020 series is set to be one of the most exciting events in poker history.

Six players will receive unique gold prizes: the Pure Gold Dragon, the Pure Gold Mouse, and three Pure Gold Cards. The Pure Gold Dragon will be awarded to the top player in the Asia time zone, while the Pure Gold Mouse will go to the top player in the WSOP 2020 series. The Pure Gold Cards will be awarded to players who finish in 2nd to 5th place in the WSOP 2020 leaderboard.

Leaderboard points are calculated using a specific formula: Leaderboard Points = f*sqrt(Prize pool/k), where f varies based on the player's finish in the tournament. In 2019, an error in point calculation led to an incorrect winner being announced; Daniel Negreanu was initially declared the winner, but the error was corrected and Robert Campbell was awarded the prize.
