WSOP 2010 Schedule Announced with Exciting Changes and New Tournaments
The WSOP 2010 schedule was released earlier than usual, with several changes and new tournaments. The most expensive tournament, now called the Players Championship, will feature eight games, including No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Triple Draw.
The World Championship of HORSE will have a $10,000 buy-in, the same as other poker variants. Six new tournaments with a $1,000 buy-in will be held, each with two starting days. A new tournament, the $25,000 No Limit Hold'em Short Handed, will start on June 30. The Main Event will start on July 5, with the final table on November 6-9.
Tournaments will now be held in the Amazon Room and Pavilion Ballroom. The food court will be moved inside the Rio Convention Centre. One-day tournaments with a $550 buy-in will be held three times a week in June. Pre-registration for tournaments is already open, with mandatory registration for some starting days. Sergey Rybachenko expressed skepticism about mixing limit games with No Limit and Pot Limit Omaha. Andrey Zaichenko welcomed the changes, particularly the eight-game format for the high-stakes tournament.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
