WPT Reschedules Asian Tour Due to Coronavirus Concerns

The coronavirus outbreak in China has significantly impacted the Asian gambling industry. All casinos in Macau were forced to close due to 10 cases of coronavirus infection in the region, including casino employees. This closure has resulted in an 11.3% loss in revenue for local casinos.

The organizers of the Triton Poker Series postponed the first stage of their series to an indefinite date. This decision was made in response to the coronavirus outbreak, which has affected various aspects of the gambling industry in the region.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has also been affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The organizers of the WPT were forced to cancel the WPT Vietnam series and postpone WPT Taiwan for three months. The decision to postpone was made by WPT live events specialist Danny McDonagh. He stated that the organizers will return to the Asian stage as soon as there is a clearer picture of the epidemic.
