Winamax Faces Lawsuit from Players Suspecting Bot Activity

Winamax, a popular online poker platform, is facing a significant challenge as players specializing in Expresso tables have filed a joint lawsuit against the company. These players claim that bots were used against them and that Winamax did not ensure proper security measures.

The scandal began in November 2017 when a user named Dontsaycat opened a thread on 2+2 titled “Bots on Winamax.” The thread discussed suspicious players, including twopanda and VictoriaMo. Winamax invited both players to their Paris office to play under observation. Twopanda refused and was subsequently banned, while VictoriaMo agreed to play around 400 games under normal conditions. The security service concluded that a real person was playing from VictoriaMo's account without using prohibited programs. However, VictoriaMo was still banned due to surrounding suspicions and the lack of transparency in the investigation.

The lawsuit was initially started by at least three players, but the number has since grown to 23. Winamax has not provided any comments regarding the lawsuit. The situation has raised questions about the compensation amounts and the overall handling of the scandal by Winamax.
