WebMoney Payments Blocked for Russian Poker Players
Russian poker players are facing a new challenge as WebMoney payments are no longer available due to federal law 244-F3. This issue affects all users who have Russia listed as their country of residence, making it impossible to use WebMoney for transactions in major poker rooms such as GGпокерок, PokerStars, and PartyPoker.
Previously, Cardmates reported on similar issues with QIWI and Юмани (Yandex Money), which also became unavailable for Russian poker players. The new law has significantly impacted the payment options for Russian users, leaving them to seek alternative methods.
There have been no official statements regarding how long this issue will persist. Given the precedent with QIWI and Юмани, it is unlikely to be resolved soon. Poker players are advised to consider other payment systems, such as cryptocurrency or Skrill and Neteller, which have proven to be reliable alternatives.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
