WCGRider's Poker Journey: From Despair to Millions
Douglas Polk, known as WCGRider, had only $30 left and was considering quitting poker in May 2007. He created a thread on 2+2 forums titled "У последней черты" ("At the Last Straw") seeking help to improve his game.
WCGRider later became one of the most successful and respected cash game players in the world. His journey from $30 to millions was marked by discipline, patience, and responsible bankroll management.
Isaac Haxton, another poker player, shared his early experiences and advice for new players, emphasizing the importance of patience and responsible bankroll management. He warned against rushing to higher stakes and advised new players to take their time and seek help when needed.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
