Poker Pro Victoria Coren-Mitchell Leaves PokerStars Over Casino Games
Victoria Coren-Mitchell, the first woman to win the European Poker Tour (EPT) and a two-time EPT winner, has terminated her contract with PokerStars. The decision came after PokerStars announced the addition of casino games to its platform. Coren-Mitchell signed a contract with PokerStars in 2008 and had been a prominent member of their professional team.
In a blog post, Coren-Mitchell expressed her concerns about the potential risks of online casino games to vulnerable players. She stated that while she does not blame PokerStars for their business decisions, she could not in good conscience continue to be associated with a platform that offers games she believes could be harmful.
Despite her departure, Coren-Mitchell plans to continue participating in EPT and UKIPT tournaments, although she mentioned that she might do so less frequently. She also received widespread support from the poker community, including on the 2+2 forum, where many users expressed their understanding and admiration for her decision.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
