Uri Peleg's Omaha Poker Journey: Expert Critique by Anatoly AAlternative
Uri Peleg, a well-known Israeli poker professional, is making an effort to learn Omaha poker. Peleg believes that the competition in Omaha is weaker than in Hold'em, making it a more lucrative option for offline play. To improve his skills, Peleg often practices on GG Poker at stakes ranging from PL500 to PL2k.
Anatoly AAlternative, a coach from the GreenLine fund and author of a popular blog on the GipsyTeam forum, analyzed Peleg's Omaha gameplay. AAlternative noted that Peleg's pre-flop play is often flawed due to his Hold'em mindset, leading to mistakes such as playing hands based on pot odds rather than equity.
In one hand, Peleg limped from the small blind with a weak hand, which AAlternative criticized as a common mistake among Hold'em players transitioning to Omaha. AAlternative also pointed out that Peleg's flop play was often ineffective, as he did not consider the potential for opponents to have strong hands. Additionally, AAlternative suggested that Peleg's turn and river bets lacked clear strategy and were often ineffective.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
