Unique Style Elements of Famous Poker Players
The style of a poker player is primarily about comfortable clothing, often complemented by accessories like sunglasses, caps, and large headphones. These items help players feel more at ease at the table and avoid giving away unnecessary information to their opponents. Some well-known players have taken this a step further by adding unique elements to their classic poker style, making them instantly recognizable.
Scottie Nguyen, a five-time WSOP bracelet winner and 1998 World Champion, has a distinctive style. His gelled hairstyle, round glasses, and gold accessories are his trademarks. Nguyen often wears award bracelets on his wrists and multiple gold pendants around his neck, sometimes adding diamond rings. His signature look includes a green pendant on a chain.
Vitaly Volov, known as hiNt, is associated with smoking hookahs and singing karaoke. In the early 2010s, his blog on the GipsyTeam forum introduced readers to his love for these activities. His stories from hookah lounges and vocal performances in karaoke became popular, leading many poker players to take up hookah smoking. While it's unclear if karaoke attendance increased among poker players, Volov and his friend Andrey Pateychuk were early adopters of hookah culture before it became mainstream.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
