Unibet Launches New Software to Protect Amateur Poker Players
Unibet, a publicly traded company on the stock exchange since 2004, has over 7 million clients by 2013. The company is known for its series of live tournaments, Unibet Open, which features an impressive entertainment program. Unibet has left the MPN network to focus on independent development, allowing the company to quickly respond to player feedback and industry changes.
The new Unibet client does not allow players to choose tables in cash games; instead, players only need to specify their preferred bet size, and the system will automatically seat them at an available table. This feature eliminates the need for players to hunt for weaker opponents. Additionally, players can create multiple nicknames and switch between them daily, starting each day with a clean slate. Statistical tracking programs like Holdem Manager and Poker Tracker are not supported, ensuring that players' results remain private.
Unibet offers a €500 bonus for all players, which is credited in parts based on rake. The new reward system is based on the number of flops seen, with different point values for various bet sizes. Multi-table tournaments earn 10 points per €1 buy-in, while single-table tournaments earn 7 points for 5-max and 5 points for heads-up. Players receive their rewards on the first working day of each month based on the previous month's points. Unibet is hosting jackpot tournaments, freeroll tournaments, and various missions, providing ample opportunities for players to enjoy the game.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
