Trueteller: The Most Dangerous Poker Player Ever?

Trueteller, known as Timofey Kuznetsov, appeared on the Winning the Game of Life podcast hosted by Jangleman. The discussion covered various aspects of poker, including the role of bots in Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT) and the importance of intuition in the game.

Trueteller believes that in ICM spots, humans would not stand a chance against bots in medium or shallow depths. He explained that in the late stages of a tournament, the expected value (EV) differences in decisions are significant, and humans are likely to make many mistakes, especially with calls.

Trueteller highlighted that good memory, emotional control, and concentration are crucial for poker success. He mentioned that he graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University with a degree in Probability Theory, but noted that advanced mathematical skills are not as important in poker as many people think. He compared his poker intuition to a musical sense of rhythm, where he can feel when something is off in a hand. He also mentioned that he moved to Moscow from a small town near Novosibirsk at the age of 16 and started playing poker after his friend began playing online. Trueteller credits Phil Galfond's videos for helping him improve his poker skills.
