Trueteller Reflects on His Poker Career and Future Plans
Trueteller, a prominent figure in the poker world, recently shared insights into his career and future plans. He played a heads-up match with Mikhael Tüürits, involving NLHE/PLO on $100/$200 without crossbucks. This match was part of a larger trend where Trueteller and other high-stakes players prefer to play among themselves rather than against a newer generation of solver-based players.
In recent months, Trueteller has been less active in poker, focusing more on trading. He mentioned that he has been playing less frequently, especially on platforms like GG where he only participates in high-stakes games. On Stars, he has not been active at all. This shift in focus has led to a significant reduction in his poker activities.
Trueteller's journey in poker began when his friend, known as 'vaterguy' on Stars and 'пижама' on GipsyTeam, won $7,000 in a few months. This friend's success inspired Trueteller to start playing online poker. Over the years, Trueteller has had a tumultuous relationship with the game, experiencing periods of intense play and periods of hiatus. He mentioned that he used to play poker for about six years, waking up and immediately starting to play. This period of intense play continued until 2017, after which he took breaks but resumed playing in 2018-19.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
