Top 8 YouTube Poker Trainers You Should Follow

Every day, the «Что на ривере?» channel publishes summaries of videos and articles on poker strategy. The channel covers a wide range of topics, including news, poker room promotions, tournament announcements, social media reviews, forum stories, and the results of top online players. However, the most popular content is the lessons from renowned trainers.

Phil Galfond is one of the most dedicated authors in the poker world. He is the founder of the top poker school Run it Once, a trainer with 20 years of experience, and the most famous Omaha player on the planet. Galfond's videos are known for their high quality, and he continues to create poker content despite having taught players like Trueteller and Jungleman. This year, Galfond started a weekly newsletter, and the channel publishes summaries of each article. For example, one of his recent posts discusses the similarities between poker and video games.

Ben Rolfe is a prominent tournament player and trainer, known for his cult course Raise Your Edge, which has helped shape many of today's MTT regulars. He is also a streamer and video blogger who often publishes highlights from his streams, featuring the most impressive hands. In the spring of this year, Rolfe shared his results from all poker rooms, showcasing his ABI and ROI, which would leave even his few haters speechless. On YouTube and Twitter, Ben is a master of creating engaging content in the style of 'do it right, it will be fine.'

Sauro Costa is this year's sensation on poker YouTube. He owns a large stable of cash game players and was previously an instructor at Galfond's Run it Once. He started regularly recording videos just a few months ago, and sandr1x already praises his channel for providing enough information to understand how to dominate the mid-stakes. Costa's strength lies in his effective balance of GTO and exploit strategies, which he demonstrates on long streams where he explains every hand played. In short videos, he not only teaches fearless check-raising and overbetting but also delivers powerful motivational speeches.

Finding Equilibrium is a legendary YouTube channel about GTO, run by an anonymous author who prefers to remain anonymous. The channel produces deep and detailed videos about optimal strategy, constantly experimenting with formats. It is known that the author has never been a poker pro. The irony is that one of the leading GTO experts studies and popularizes the theory simply because he loves the game so much that he once even tried to turn his girlfriend into a regular.

Level Up is a podcast by Upswing Poker trainers Mike Brady and Gary Blackwood, which has been available on YouTube since the beginning of 2023. Mike and Gary thoroughly explain fundamental poker strategy, including balanced 3-bets, post-flop sizing, boards for betting with the entire range, and more. All their lessons are based on GTO. One of the most notable episodes was translated for the main page. In their recent videos, the hosts delve deeper into topics such as PKO tournaments, optimal play with AK pre-flop and post-flop, and strategies on flops with an ace.

Fedor Holz and Steffen Sontheimer are well-known poker trainers who run the Pokercode channel. Fedor often plays the role of a cheerful poker retiree, sharing career highlights, tips on tells and psychology, and entertaining content. Steffen, on the other hand, focuses more on classical educational content, playing live sessions with commentary at fast tables and analyzing hands.

Jonathan Little is a prolific poker content creator with nearly 170,000 subscribers. He is known for his detailed hand analysis and extensive video library. His most dynamic genre of videos involves analyzing hands, where he dissects the play of popular vloggers and notable hands from streams and TV broadcasts. Recently, Little analyzed three barrels from Daniel Negreanu in the final of a Poker Masters series tournament, and a corresponding analysis is expected to be available on YouTube soon.

James Sweeney is known for his educational content on The Poker Bank, where he teaches poker odds and equities to micro-stakes players. He is the unofficial ambassador of the Flopzilla program and has an impressive beard in the poker community. Sweeney is the author of several books and co-founder of the educational site Red Chip Poker.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
