Top Poker Moments of 2010: Isildur1, Eastgate, and More

2010 was a pivotal year in the poker world, marked by several high-profile events and developments. One of the most notable moments was Isildur1 signing a contract with PokerStars in December 2010. This move came after a tumultuous year for the mysterious Swedish player, who had risen to fame with impressive wins and losses in high-stakes online games.

Another significant event was Pete Eastgate's retirement from poker. Eastgate, who had won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2008, announced his retirement in July 2010. His decision shocked the poker community, especially since he had been performing well in live tournaments. Eastgate's retirement was followed by the auction of his WSOP champion's bracelet on eBay, which sold for $147,500.

The North American Poker Tour (NAPT) was officially announced at the PCA 2010. The tour, which aimed to compete with the World Series of Poker, started with its first event on the Bahamas. The main event of the PCA 2010 attracted 1,529 participants and had a prize pool of $14,831,300. The organizers expected even more participants and larger prize pools in the future.
