Steve O'Dwyer's Luggage Lost by Lufthansa, Poker Career Highlights
Poker professional Steve O'Dwyer recently shared his frustrations with Lufthansa after his luggage went missing during a trip to the Bahamas. O'Dwyer's journey, which included multiple layovers and a complicated route, turned into a nightmare when he arrived in Nassau without his belongings. Despite assurances from Lufthansa that his luggage would be returned promptly, O'Dwyer and his fiancée spent two weeks at the PCA without their items, which were never delivered.
O'Dwyer's luggage was eventually recovered with the help of an employee from Heathrow, not Lufthansa. The employee, who was irate about the treatment of customers, personally ensured that O'Dwyer's bags were found and returned. O'Dwyer is now seeking compensation from Lufthansa, a process he anticipates will be challenging.
In addition to his travel woes, O'Dwyer reflected on his poker career, which began in 2004. He initially played mostly cash games but switched to Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) after Black Friday. O'Dwyer's notable achievements include winning the Irish Open in 2022 with 2,000 participants. He also shared insights into his poker strategy, highlighting his ability to read opponents and his love for the deep stages of tournaments.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
