Stas Alekhin Wins Unibet Heads-Up Challenge
Poker fans were treated to an exciting event as Stas Alekhin, the champion of Russia in Heads-Up, took on players from Unibet in a special challenge. On September 15th, 2009, Alekhin played four Heads-Up Sit & Go (SnG) tables in the Unibet poker room. The buy-in for each table was set at 3€ + 0.3€, with a password required for entry, which was announced on the day of the event.
The event was not just about the heads-up challenge; two freerolls were also organized. Each freeroll had a prize pool of 10€. One freeroll was for those who believed in Stas Alekhin's victory, while the other was for those who thought he would lose. The additional prize pool of 100€ was added to the winning freeroll's prize pool, making it even more enticing.
In the end, Stas Alekhin emerged victorious in the heads-up challenge with a score of 6:3. The winners of the freeroll 'Stas Alekhin Victory Freeroll' will receive their prizes from the additional prize pool in the coming days.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
