Sochi Poker Festival: High Stakes and Notable Players
The Grand Final of the Sochi Poker Festival is taking place at Casino Sochi from December 17. Several tournaments have already concluded, with notable performances from various players.
In the most expensive tournament, the super high rollers with a buy-in of 5,000, there were 34 entries. Gia Shukhulia emerged as the winner, with Anatoly Zirin and Arseny Karmatsky also making significant appearances at the final table.
The Warm Up tournament, with a buy-in of 770, attracted 280 entries. Naerik Arsenyan was officially declared the winner. In the heads-up, Naerik, holding a pair of threes, called against Andrey Osipov's pocket queens. On the river, Naerik hit a set, securing the win. However, Andrey Osipov, known as XPEHA, received the most prize money due to the prize pool split before the heads-up.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
