Skrill and Neteller Update Verification and Fees: What You Need to Know
Skrill and Neteller, popular payment methods among poker players, have announced significant changes to their verification procedures and commission fees. Starting May 1, 2023, Skrill and Neteller will cancel their cards in Russia. This decision is due to the tightening of European legislation and the adoption of Federal Law No. 264-FZ in Russia, which requires all foreign payment systems to process payments through Russian banks or legal entities.
New users on these platforms will see a reduction in commission fees for the first and all subsequent transactions starting April 8, 2023. The new verification process requires users to take a photo in real-time during the verification procedure, rather than uploading pre-made photos. The commission for the first money transfer will be 4.49%, and for all subsequent transactions, it will be 1.45%.
These changes are aimed at reducing the scope for manipulations related to money transfers and multi-accounting. However, these updates will only affect new clients; existing users will not be impacted.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
