Shaun Deeb Plays WCOOP Tournaments from Mexican Hospital Bed
Professional poker player Shaun Deeb is known for his success in both online and offline poker, with total winnings exceeding 7,000,000$. He is also one of the leaders in the number of wins at WCOOP, with 8 victories to his name. Deeb is currently playing in the WCOOP tournaments despite being hospitalized with COVID-19 in a Mexican hospital.
Deeb contracted the virus while playing in the World Series of Poker in Mexico. He initially hoped to avoid hospitalization but eventually ended up in a Mexican hospital. Deeb shared on his Twitter page that he is playing 10 tables at once on a tablet with one hand while in the hospital. He also mentioned that his hospital room is better than he expected and that he is receiving good treatment.
Deeb's Twitter handle is @shaundeeb. He tweeted, "You can't call yourself a real WCOOP grinder if you don't play one-handed, 10 tables on a touchpad in a Mexican hospital while having Covid-19." His tweet included a photo of his hospital room and the equipment he is using to play poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
