Sergey Lebedev Reflects on His Poker Journey and Recent Tournament Challenges
Sergey Lebedev, a seasoned poker player, has been a regular at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) since 2010, missing only one year due to attending the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Lebedev's first solo trip to the WSOP in 2018 was different as he primarily played cash games instead of tournaments. He has been successful in online poker from 2021 to early 2023, but has found it challenging to integrate online play into his current lifestyle.
He placed third in a $10,000 tournament at the EPT in Paris despite making a technical error that cost him a chance to win. Lebedev finished fifth in a $25,000 tournament at the EPT in Monte-Carlo, noting the importance of luck in poker. He placed third in a $50,000 tournament at the EPT in Prague, surviving with a short stack against strong Russian-speaking regulars.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
