Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open: Final Tables and Controversies

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open series concluded with four final tables, broadcasted on PokerNightTV in Twitch with a 30-minute delay. The main event's guarantee was reduced from $10 million to $5 million, but it still wasn't met, with 907 participants resulting in about $4.76 million in prizes.

Dan Colman, the previous year's winner, made it to the final table with the third stack. In the $25,400 high roller event with re-entry, the guarantee was doubled with 83 entries, resulting in a prize pool of $2,075,000. In the $2,650 event with a $1 million guarantee, 502 players participated, creating a prize pool of $1,217,350. The $1,100 event with re-entry and a $500,000 guarantee saw 794 entries, with no notable players in the final.

Poker Central, launching October 1, announced two new shows: Pokerography and Inside Poker. Daniel Negreanu created a poker-themed cover of the song Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A. In January 2014, the Borgata Winter Poker Open tournament was stopped due to extra chips being found in play. Christian Lusardi was arrested and found with counterfeit chips and pirated discs in his possession. Lusardi was sentenced to 60 months in prison and ordered to pay $1,137,864 in restitution. The remaining prize pool from the Borgata Winter Poker Open was redistributed among the affected players.
