Russell Westbrook's Charity Poker Night Brings Game to Fontainebleau Las Vegas
NBA star Russell Westbrook’s Sixth Annual Why Not? Foundation (WNF) Poker Night will be held on September 18, 2023, at the Fontainebleau casino in Las Vegas. This event marks the first poker event at the property located at the north end of the Strip, which opened in 2023 without a poker room.
The annual Westbrook charity tournament has raised more than $2 million for educational access, workforce development, and mental health and wellness programs in underserved communities. The event is held in conjunction with the World Poker Tour Foundation and has brought together notable figures including DeAndre Jordan, DeMar DeRozan, Princess Love, Antonio Esfandiari, and Adin Hill.
Westbrook recently announced his retirement from the NBA after an 18-year career. He stated, “Our upcoming Sixth Annual Poker Night is a signature cornerstone of our ongoing work to unlock game-changing futures for underserved youth.”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
