11 Finalists of RunGood Poker Series ME Agree to Split Prize Money Equally
The RunGood Poker Series ME tournament, held at Horseshoe Council Bluffs casino in Nebraska, had a buy-in of $575 and attracted 161 players, forming a prize pool of $434,010. The tournament had 161 players, and 90 of them made it into the money, with the minimum payout being $980.
When there were 11 finalists left, Kyle Hinnrichs, who had a significant chip lead, proposed to split the prize money equally, leaving the championship ring and a spot in the Pro-Am at the All-Stars Event in Las Vegas for the final winner. The other players agreed to this proposal.
Each of the 11 players received $26,050. After the split, players began to be eliminated one by one. This situation allowed Freeman Kaufman from Iowa, who was playing with a short stack, to quickly rise to the top and win the tournament. If the players had decided not to split the prize money, the champion would have received $84,630.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
