Robert Cowen Wins $50k PLO High Roller at WSOP for $1.4 Million
Robert Cowen, a Welshman from Swansea, has made history by winning back-to-back titles at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). His latest victory came in the $50k PLO High Roller event, where he secured a massive $1,393,816 payday. This win instantly doubled his lifetime cashes, following his previous victory in the $3k PLO 6-handed bracelet last November.
The $50k PLO High Roller event attracted 106 entries, creating a substantial prizepool of $5,074,750. The field included some of the biggest names in poker, such as Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Galfond, Shaun Deeb, Alex Foxen, and Stephen Chidwick, all of whom were eliminated on the first day. On the second day, notable players like Joni Jouhkimainen, Scott Seiver, and Jason Mercier were also eliminated.
On the final day, Jared Bleznick was the first to be eliminated, losing to Dash Dudley. Veselin Karakitukov, the overnight chip leader, was then eliminated by Robert Cowen. Cowen went on to defeat Dash Dudley in the final hand, securing his victory in the event.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
