Storage Wars Star Rene Nezhoda Wins Big in Uruguay Poker Tournament

Rene Nezhoda, a star of the reality TV show Storage Wars, has made a significant mark in the world of poker. Nezhoda won Americas CardRoom’s Enjoy Poker Tour Main Event in Uruguay, securing a prize of $70,455. This victory is particularly notable as it is his first big live poker tournament win. Nezhoda, a native of Germany, is known for his lengthy stint on A&E's Storage Wars, where he turned his knowledge of buying and selling antiques into reality TV stardom along with his wife, Casey.

Nezhoda's poker journey began as a cash game grinder in Las Vegas. His recent success in Uruguay included an 11th place finish in a $3300 buy-in event, earning him $9500. However, it was the $1100 buy-in Main Event that saw him truly shine, fending off Emiliano Bazzano heads-up for the title. The Atlantic Coast venue hosted eight days of poker action, with Nezhoda emerging as a standout player among 340 entrants.

Reflecting on his victory, Nezhoda expressed his exhaustion but also his gratitude. He thanked Americas Cardroom, his family, and his supporters, including his daughter back at home. This win brings Nezhoda’s total live tournament earnings to $106,863, significantly boosting his previous earnings from small 3- and 4-figure sums, including at the 2019 and 2022 WSOPs.
