Ren Lin Apologizes for Helping Player During GG Millions Final Table
Ren Lin, an ambassador for GG Poker, found himself at the center of controversy after helping a player during the final table of GG Millions. The incident sparked widespread discussion and led to his removal from a WSOP Circuit tournament.
During the final table, Ren Lin joined a voice conference organized by RealOA, a player in the tournament. Lin provided advice to RealOA during the game, which was seen as a violation of the rules. Lin stated that he only spent a few minutes in the conference and did not realize he was breaking the rules. He also mentioned that he did not accept a $100 red packet from RealOA and that RealOA returned almost all of his winnings, with Lin compensating for the remaining amount.
In response to the incident, Lin was disqualified from the WSOP Circuit tournament by tournament director Andy Tillman. He was removed from the tournament by security and his stack was removed. Lin has since apologized for his actions and stated that he did not profit from the incident. He expressed his willingness to accept any punishment and work to compensate the affected players. Daniel Negreanu supported Ren Lin and expressed his belief in the sincerity of Lin's apology.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
